It's Here! Vashon Loop's March Issue
And wow...this one's just packed with vitally important and broadly relevant stories and well-researched reports.

Dear Vashon Loop Readers and Substack Subscribers,
The past weekend has been a blur, as our editorial team has jostled, juggled and discussed what you’ll soon be reading. In particular, a deeply distressing piece written three months ago (with national implications) finally made it onto our pages. There’s a hilarious story about a cow (part one) which ends with, “Hahaha! What kind of dumb
hayseed would let ... their cow ... oh.”
And then we have our front page, which features an article by the Editorial Team. It reflects our experience of taking myriad local media stories at face value, until…one of our team started reading the actual language of House Bill 1814. Which she always does, and thank goodness! Serious questions began to emerge, the angle of the story changed entirely, and the rewrite consumed most of the weekend.
The result is that we’re still not sure what’s actually going on, but we have identified what appears to be a bill that’s aiming for two targets - including one loop hole that doesn’t yet seem to exist. We’ll bring you more in April.
Our paper is filled with the voices of islanders, discussing all sorts of interesting and super important issues. It is with the greatest admiration for our community that we bring these incredible voices to you on, with our pages, our ink and Substack!
The Vashon Loop is FREE for all, in paper form and online. Our advertising rates remain at pre-inflation rates, and we hope to keep it that way. To do this, we need your help.
